In class,
we watched several cool presentation videos of theater traditions
by IB students. We graded them and we compared our grades to the IB grades
which were very close. So I think I am confident about my project. However,
there are several points need to clarify about how to make a good theater
tradition project.
At first, the Korean girl’s video is my
favorite. Though she did not use many hard terms and professional terms, she
still got an excellent grade on theater process and presenting theater. All the
critical victory points of her presentation were the organization and
structure. Her powerpoint was relatively simple and she notified audience every
time she entered the next part of her presentation. On the other hand, she followed
the order on the guidebook which was very good but what she did different than
many of other presenters was that she explained the moment of theater by
divided it into several parts then went over the whole procedure. If she acts
out the whole scene then explains by parts, audience may think that she acts
well but the audience usually do not really get the whole piece of information
she wants to express. By doing this order, her full length scene of the moment
of theater seems easier to understand. As a presenter, we want our audience get
as much information as they can and this video is also an educational video
that would probably been put up on Youtube to share with others.
There are also some points I took notes to
notify myself as little details to make a good presentation. It will be good to
use cue cards( the girl used them, too). This not only gives the presenter the
chance to review their topics but also reduces the time the presenter needs to
look on the screen. Also, I feel that standing straight and presenting with
some cue cards and rarely look back is quite professional. Another thing to
remind myself was timing. I can remember that I did not do well on my timing
last time doing the director’s notebook. This time I prefer to control the time
around fourteen minutes and ten seconds which means I will probably spent a lot
of time on practicing and organizing my cue cards.
