Our group scene has finally done today. I really enjoy the process of working with my group mates. It was totally different from an individual work. In an individual work, I am not really communicate with others. The only thing I did a lot on individual work is to see my video over and over and discuss with myself to see which one I want. But in a group project, we have to work with others, which means we have to respect others suggestion. Sometimes if we have conflicts, we need to try both way to see which one is better. This causes the lack of time. We only have class time to practice and discuss this scene because there is no way for us to stay together after school. This make our time usually valuable. If I am going to perform a monologue, I have tons of time to practice after school. It was hard at our very beginning, then became easier later. This is a 11 minutes long scene, I have tons of lines compare to my monologue. At first I need to read all the time, but later it ...

Scene Report

Everything is going well with our scene.e We made a lot of adjustments in these days.  I want to talk about the whole group first. This is a 3 people small group so we cooperate quite well. Janna seems acting herself because every movement every emotion are so natural and enough. The only things we proposed her are some positions on the stage and some lines. Helen made a great progress, too. I can remember that she always smirked on me when we were in a sad atmosphere and her voice was really soft that we cannot hear it in the video. However, now she can make the stage a place to perform not a place to practice. When I was watching at the video yesterday I can hundred percent sure that she is that sad and hesitating Nicole. The chemical reaction in our group is really great. We always speak out when we need to without hesitation. In the group communication, Janna always leads discussion and raises good viewpoints which helped us changed a lot. I am happy to be able to work in ...

We started our study on monologue 2 weeks ago. Monologue is a personal performance acts out by the actor or actress by using languege, motion and facial express to present a scenario. In my first monologue, I was mostly a play creator than someone who actually act it out. That time, I was focusing on how to make the plot interesting but I ignored the quality of performance. Part of the reasons is the time was so limitied in class so we were not able to prepare well. But I think I was the only one who really put almost all attention to imagine my plot. However, the pressure of performing in the classroom is less than in the black box because I feel I am in front of many audiences. In this first monologue, the most difficult thing I found is to organize well in a short time and to hit a balance on the plot and acting. The second monologue, which we put a lot of efforts, was fun and inspiring. In this scenario, I am Austin, a boy who accidentally see his friend who is probably bul...
